The official column of the PWA.
Hello PWA fans, and welcome to another edition of The Rush, the column that takes you inside and out of the PWA. I am really psyched for Who's The Man? which takes place this coming Sunday. The lineup looks awesome, though it is obvious, the PWA is in desperate need of talent. This brings me to my first order of business...
Fan Poll:Should The PWA close, merge, or just go on?-A recent AOWF fan poll showed that most fans in the community believe the PWA should either close or merge with another promotion. This does not necessarily mean the PWA will do either one of those things, but there have been rumors of a possible PWA/W4F merger, or possibly a draft to sort of even out the promotions, since both are suffering from a severe case of talent drought, though I do feel the PWA is worse for wear. It seems the PWA are resting squarely on the shoulders of Fallen Angel, Demise, Nightstryker, Silverback, and Ezekial. I am lost myself over Chamelion if he is PWA or not, and it seems his brother Raizzor and Showtime have both left the PWA as well. What will the PWA do? I do feel Robinson needs to make an announcement regarding the PWA and its current status. The results of the poll were 48% believed the PWA should merge, while 30% believed the PWA should close its doors. The final 22% were split 11% each with undecided and continuing on despite the talent loss.
Malicious Intent-Have Demise and Fallen Angel gone too far?-If you haven't caught any of the latest promos from Fallen Angel and Dr. Demise, who are the co-World Champions of the PWA, I am both happy for you, and disappointed. You missed some great verbal jousting, but you also missed some graphic content. Dead wolf heads, satanic writing, grave desecration, paranoia, images of dead babies, and murder have all come into play now as Demise and Fallen Angel roll into Who's The Man? to decide who really is worthy to become the Undisputed PWA World Champion. This is going to be one of the greatest World Title matches in PWA history. Not only will the title be up for grabs, but it will be decided in a Purgatory Cage Match, which is and has been a speciality match custom made by Demise. He is famous for it in the PHWF, where he created it. Fallen Angel is not a stranger to it, as he was part of a match that featured Lou Nattik, Demise, and himself in a Purgatory Cage for the title. Fallen Angel did not win, but neither did Demise. There's gonna be a lot of blood spilling, and in the end only one man will be the PWA World Champion.
Carrying The Load-Veterans of the PWA that are left after the exodus are given the task of carrying the weight of the company on their shoulders, but they are more than ready for it. Nightstryker and Silverback appear to be the only active M.o.A. members left in the PWA, but with Silverback now holding the Grizzly Beer Title and Nightstryker being a serious threat to the PWA World Title, the M.o.A. doesn't need an army to take over the PWA. One can't also forget that Sirus Moran is still hanging around, and so is Chamelion, I think. Showtime has left, but is expected to return in August sometime. Hopefully by then, the PWA will be back in business.
Rumors
Rumors are flying about a possible Panzadise return. As mentioned in the last issue of this column, I don't know whether to take that as a good thing or a bad thing.
Several former PWA superstars have been contacted for possible returns. No word yet if any have accepted the offers.
At a recent auction a Jay kneepad went for 5,000 dollars, Canadian, and it was said to be bought by a woman who has watched Jay from the very beginning. This same woman was rumored to be trying to coax Jay back to the ring.
What do you get when you mix Lou Nattik and a Los Angles radio show? Chaos and mentions of a possible PWA signing.
There are strong, very strong rumors of a possible NAW(New Age Wrestling)invasion into the PWA and other AOWF promotions. I am familiar with this promotion, which employed such past and current AOWF superstars as The Notch, Fallen Angel, Thunderwolf, Ryan McCade, Kevin Cool, and Destroyer X, just to name a few. I had an internet conversation with former NAW World Champion Smackdown, and he informed me that the possibility is strong for a few NAW stars to make their mark on the community. They are especially looking to getting into the PWA, for unknown reasons.
Well that's it for me, I'll be back next week with the breakdown from Who's The Man? Thank you all, and enjoy the PWA, because it might not last too much longer. I'm trying to be optimistic.
